2026 Maruti Brezza Facelift Gets Turbo Engine: Maruti Suzuki has given its popular Brezza compact SUV a significant update for 2026, adding a new turbo-petrol engine, more technology and stronger safety equipment. The refreshed SUV is available with three engine choices across 13 variants, with prices ranging from ₹7.40 lakh to ₹13.55 lakh, ex-showroom.
The biggest change to the new Maruti Brezza is the arrival of a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This motor produces 110hp and 170Nm of torque and comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The engine is designed to offer stronger low-speed response, and road-test findings indicate that turbo lag is limited, making it relatively easy to drive in busy city traffic.
However, there is an important catch for automatic buyers. Maruti Suzuki does not offer an automatic gearbox with the new turbo engine. Customers who want an automatic Brezza have to choose the 1.5-litre petrol engine, which develops 103hp and 139Nm and is available with either a manual or automatic transmission.
The company continues to offer a CNG powertrain as well. The 1.5-litre CNG engine produces 89hp and 121.5Nm and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Its claimed efficiency is 26.90km/kg, while the 1.5-litre petrol version has an ARAI-certified figure of 21.09kpl.
Inside the cabin, the 2026 Brezza receives several equipment upgrades. A larger 10.1-inch touchscreen takes centre stage, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher variants can also be equipped with ventilated front seats, a cooled wireless phone charger, 64-colour ambient lighting and a single-pane sunroof.
Safety is another major area of improvement. The updated Brezza has received a five-star Bharat NCAP crash rating and comes with six airbags. Depending on the variant, buyers can also get blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.
The compact SUV retains its practical dimensions, measuring 3,995mm long, 1,790mm wide and 1,685mm tall. It has a 2,500mm wheelbase, seats five people and provides a 328-litre boot. The spacious cabin remains one of the model’s key strengths, with road-test findings indicating that five adults can be accommodated comfortably.
Visually, the facelift brings subtle styling revisions rather than a complete redesign. Changes include an updated grille, redesigned bumpers and new 16-inch alloy wheels. Turbo variants also receive red exterior accents to differentiate them from the rest of the range.
Despite the updates, the Brezza has a few notable omissions. The turbo version recorded a 0-100kph time of 12.36 seconds in testing, while the SUV does not offer a spare wheel, digital driver display or powered seats. The suspension is also described as slightly firm, and the steering provides limited feedback during enthusiastic driving.
With its new turbo engine, upgraded cabin technology, five-star Bharat NCAP rating and multiple petrol and CNG choices, the 2026 Maruti Brezza continues to target buyers looking for a practical compact SUV with a broad range of powertrain options.
